I applied about 2 weeks ago (early) to the San Francisco art Institute. I absolutely fell in love with it when I visited in Summer, and knew that it was my top choice. It's on a hill, over looking Alcatraz, with an incredible rooftop, beautiful library, and awesome studio spaces with full-wall windows. AH! I fell in love. San Francisco as a city also blew me away, we walked the streets in the Haight and Mission districts, went to Golden Gate park, and went to an Urban Arts festival where we saw some incredible graffiti artists. The city is positively VIBRANT, blossoming with inspiration and wildly creative individuals. As an outsider, I had never been drawn to America, but so many of the cities are incredible, and America is truly blessed with beautiful land. After SF we ventured to the Redwood forest, and drove down the Pacific Coast highway - WOW! I can't imagine being able to take weekend road trips in the future, it'll be incredible.
So with the excitement of getting accepted, comes the bitter-sweet realization that I'll be graduating in half a year. WHAT! Craziness, I know. I can't imagine leaving Bali, let alone Green School, but I'm incredibly grateful for all the opportunities I've been given, and I'm ready to embrace the path my life is taking. I'm so glad that I know what I'm passionate about and that I get to follow that.
