An english piece...
I enjoy school, and just like for most teenagers, it is a big part of my life. My favourite school subjects include English, Literature, and History, and so it seems fitting to post one of my English pieces up here. It started off as a discursive writing piece, where I picked an issue that I thought was relevant to teenagers today, and ended up as an assignment I ended up being quite happy with. It is appropriately titled "The self-image paradox" and addresses the way we perceive ourselves and the way that affects the way others see us, and vice versa. It's an issue that I battled with as a young teenager, and still battle with sometimes today, but a concept I've come to recognize too, as a way of being who I want to be. The conclusion of this essay very much reflects my favourite quote, I suppose you could even call it a motto:
"Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind" - Dr. Seuss

Away
This originated as a possible "common application essay", but ended up in me just writing. I don't think I could use this as a uni application essay now because I don't think it shows my values or portrays how I would contribute in a university environment. I'm quite proud of it as a piece of writing though.
